6 Months Today

Ah. As the title might lead you to believe, today is 6 months from when Drew started his job up here. How can six months go by so incredibly fast and yet seem like forever ago that we lived in Mesa.

We have since celebrated our one year anniversary on the 6th of August. We had a nice, quick little trip to Sedona. It was wonderful. Our hotel/bed&breakfast was awesome. I can't list a favorite part because I loved the fact that it had a soaker tub (have you seen the bathtubs in a trailer???), a fire place (I know what you are thinking...a fire place? in Arizona? in the summer? Crazy. So we turned down the air so much that we cranked it on every time we were in the room!), and the fact that we had a chef every morning for breakfast make us yummy and healthy breakfasts. When we heard the continental breakfast aspect of the deal, we thought (or at least I did) here come some donuts, bagels, cereal, and maybe if we are really lucky a waffle maker. Not so!! I would hands down recommend this place to anyone!! They even upgraded us a room because of our anniversary. Check it out! http://www.lasposadasofsedona.com/

If you have never been to Sedona in your life, put it on your bucket list. It is hands down one of the prettiest places on this earth. Here are some pictures to show off the beauty, none of which does the place justice.

Here is our wedding cake. It made quite the trip...Mitchell to Chicago, Chicago to Phoenix, Phoenix to Morenci, Morenci to Safford. No wonder it didn't taste so yummy. The frosting did. The cake...not really.

First glance into Sedona. The red rocks rise up outta no where. God is so good.

View from our room.

Our fire place looking into bedroom.

Driving around upon arrival.

The pretty Church in the Rock. We have pictures of this when I am a lot younger.

First night dinner. The Hideaway. Casual Italian. So yummy!!
If you go, catch the sunset on Airport Rd.

All these people did!

Going.

A panoramic view.

A few less people in this one.
Just about to go down.
Gone.

Fire all aglow. Happiness.

Went into the church and the gift shop.

Have this same picture from when I was in jr. high or high school

Just driving around.

My love helping a friend out...

So pretty minus the bugs on the windshield.

Ahhhh.
We were hoping the pot of gold would be sitting outside our trailer door...alas we both are still working.

Okay so anyone who doesn't live around here...during this time of year these caterpillar like creatures come out in the masses!! When Drew first saw them he didn't have a clue what they were. We had to pull over to check them out. The roads are practically stained yellow because so many get ran over. I feel bad hitting them, but for real, get out the way.
Dust storm!!

There is a playground over there. Aug 9

Just driving around Morenci

They not dumb. Chillin in the shade.
We were super lucky to have my aunt and uncle out for a visit at the end of July/first of August...while there isn't that much to do out here, we packed their day and a half visit the best we could. It was a lot of driving around but that is what you have to do in the desert. Here are some highlights.

They were so happy to see the long horned sheep. Uncle Steve had never seen them in the wild.

Pretty flowers at the Gila Box.

Must be caffeine free *snicker snicker* Sorry to all the LDS family/friends we have :)

Mo flowers

Musta been up Mt. Graham/Thomas/George. Whatever its called.

Looking at us.

The mine.

Looks like a lawn ornament...on snob hill.
I'll end the pictures with this cute face.
Looking at this past six months, it has been a wonderful mix of emotion, ups and downs, and tons of miles. I am so blessed to experience this journey with my best friend. While nothing makes these long nights easier, its nice to know they won't be forever. There are times where I won't even see Drew (such as tomorrow because I will go to work before he gets home, he goes to work before I get back) for more then a day, but then there is that 7 days that over the summer we got to spend everyday together, which makes going back to work that much harder.

Highlight of my day today. We are now 46 on the housing list!! We started out 52. Then 48 on Friday. Now 46. Please send good thoughts and prayers our way that our journey in the trailer become limited to recreation as it is intended and can create a home out of the houses in Morenci.

Okay so now for some super happy news....one of my bestest friends Amy and her husband Nate were selected to be the parents for a BEAUUUUUUUUUTIFUL baby boy!!! I could not be more happy for these two. They will be the some of the best parents in the world!! Check it out:

Thanks for the visit and hope you all have a great day!!!

Settle in...

...this is going to be a long post! I apologize for not posting more frequent. We have had a busy month. It has been over 5 months now that we are living in York Valley. Mesa living seems like forever ago!

I am going to try and do this in order as much as possible. Thank goodness for pictures that go in order on my phone.
Cutie enjoying some pasta.
He very much enjoys looking at himself...messy face and all!

One of the bigger pieces of news that happened in this time period is....WE HAVE A NEW TRAILER!! We absolutely love it!! While it is smaller (isn't cozier a nicer term for that??), it has air conditioning!! A fridge that works!! Water pressure!! An oven that doesn't burn things (yet). Introducing the newest addtion to our family: Deborah!!

Our 2007 Jayco Jayflight 27ft travel trailer.
After months of off and on searching, we finally found this smoking deal on craigslist. After at least an hour debate with input from several people, we put a down payment on it to hold others from looking at it. It was in PHX and we couldn't get back to check it out for several days. While in our search process, we had founds several scams stating that a person in their life had died and they just had to get rid of the trailer, boat, car etc for super cheap. That's what we thought this would be but thank goodness it was not!! The guy was a super nice midwesterner who buys bank repoed items and fixes them up for a quick sale. Take a look inside:

When you walk in the "master bedroom" is on the right. There is a screen that can be pulled to create a spot for Drew to sleep during the day when he is on nights.

Taken from the "master bedroom". Door is right by the trash can. Couch is on the other side of the wall. Kitchen/dining and then behind the door is the bathroom. It even has a tub. Granted it would not be one of those you toss floating candles on with flower petals.

And then there is this little suprise. Bunks! I really like this feature. As you can see, top bunk is for storage right now but the bottom bunk can be used for guests, etc. Under the bed is storage.
So the little story behind getting the trailer. We had made plans for Drew's 7 days off to go to my aunt's house in Oceanside. We had to check out this trailer first. So we spend the morning at the bank trying to get loans, plates, etc. We finally got everything worked out around 2 or so. So we went to park it at Drew's mom's house while we went to Oceanside. It was crazy hot trying to get it all postioned, off the hitched, and locked up so no one could take it while we were on our trip. We finally hit the road about 4 pm and were on our way to wonderful Oceanside CA!! This trip was awesome!!! We were so excited to be in the cool weather, by the ocean, and spending time with my aunt and uncle.

Day one: BEACH!!

We had our football, bucket for sand, and boogie boards! It was warm enough and the water was quite refreshing. It was wonderful to sit in the sand and just enjoy the sun, breeze, and Drew's company. I wanted to go back in for one more quick dip before we headed back to my aunt's house. I went into the deeper water and Drew stayed in ankle deep water. A few throws of the football in, Drew makes (what I thought was) a dramatic catch, falling over the in water. He comes up and doesn't look back at me, just makes a quick trip back to our stuff. As he sits down, he finally motions to me to come quick. Well me being the concerned wife and only thinking about my husband, had a little freak out moment because I was going to have to walk through the same water Drew just hurt himself in...OH MY GOSH. I think that is the fastest I have ever walked through water freaking out the whole time! As I get to Drew, I see his foot is bleeding. After a few choice words, we make our way to the lifeguard station. The lifeguard was a typical Cali guy...so so so chill about it, asking Drew if it was burning. "Oh yeah you prolly got stung by a sting ray" so casually. Well that ended our beach day. We called my aunt and uncle to see if they could warm up some water because Drew needed to soak his foot in "as hot as you can tolerate" water to help get the posion out. As we pull up to their house, my uncle comes out to the truck with crutches...haha. So Drew and Steve sat on the back deck drinking beers with Drew having one foot in nearly boiling water. That was quite an ordeal, Steve trying to pour hot, hot water and Drew yelling that it was too hot, and back and forth.

The next day we went to sushi for lunch. We haven't had sushi in forever. And it was sooo sooo good!!! We had so much and it was all half off!! We went walking in Carlsbad, out for pizza, picking fruit in their backyard, and on the last day we went to the zoo in San Diego. Since they have the pandas, they have a whole Chinese theme going on. It was so cool!!!

They were flipping each other with their feet. It was crazy.

She had a huge pot first, then a table, and last, two small boys.

The smallest boy was so so cute! He was a little flirt with the crowd, blowing kisses and such.

Baby cheetahs!

So cute...for a cat.

Drew's favorite picture from the zoo.

We are going to miss these temps as we head back to 90-100s.

Back in AZ!

Yikes. All this has been added to our life since we left Mesa.

I love this.

Its monsoon season baby! Love all the rain we have been getting.

Feeling a little white trash-ish. We didn't want to move our dish so instead we have about 30 feet of cable running from our old spot to our new trailer. (The old trailer is still there while we wait for the owner to pick it up).

Cade enjoying looking at himself while riding to Duncan AZ

Pretty sunset in Duncan AZ

Who doesn't go golfing at 230 in 98 degree weather? Well the rest of Greenlee county as we were the only ones there.

Just some long horned sheep chilling in the park. Very welcoming to kids.
Okay. For some reason some of my pictures aren't uploading...like the beach in Cali, etc. So maybe in another month I'll have more to update :)

Hope you are having a wonderful weekend!!
